Our council has taken a proactive approach in hosting a night for students to get a head start on preparing for the recruitment season. In light of the students’ busy schedules in September which includes going to company recruitment sessions, application deadlines and interviews, it is an important aspect to ensure that students are on the right track in preparation for the Recruiting Season. This special evening for the accounting students will ensure that they are on the right track for success. Click here to see our industry partners who participate in the fall recruitment session.
This event was designed to broaden the knowledge of the CA profession amongst our students and answer the question “Is accounting for me? Will I be crunching numbers all day?
How do I know if I will like it?” Allowing students to spend
time during the business day at a CA firm, will allow them to gain
insight into the profession. This will result in graduates who are familiar with the career they have chosen, leading to a more enthusiastic approach.
The Wine & Cheese is an excellent opportunity
to network with tomorrow’s graduates and today's employers.
Likewise for the firms and associations, it is an opportunity to
interact with the best and brightest accounting students that the
University of Guelph-Humber has to offer. The annual Wine & Cheese
stands strong and speaks for itself, a continuing success and great event our students enjoy.
The start of an annual workshop to encourage students and guide them on the importance of networking and strategies to achieve effective results.
Our council strives to promote fun events where students come out and show their interest and commitment to school, life and having fun. Hosting various sport tournaments allows students to “Break the Ice” with recruiters and enjoy sports and the outdoors. This helps to eliminate any feelings of anxiety students may have and promote fun and extra curricular activities amongst the students.
