The Accounting Information Sessions are conducted at the Guelph-Humber campus to integrate the values and integrity of the designations offered by CGA, CMA, CICA and CPA. Guelph-Humber Accounting proudly hosts information sessions every semester, with free snacks and non-alcoholic beverages offered to students.
The Guelph-Humber Accounting Council will be launching its inaugural business mentorship program. Student volunteers recruit mentors to connect new students with senior students who are in fourth year of their Accounting Specialization. The mentors will assist students in becoming a CMA, CGA or CA. The Business Mentor Program (BMP) is a volunteer organization committed to improving the academic and social lives of first- and second-year Guelph-Humber students. In addition to matching new students with senior students through our mentor program, we hold group tutorials for junior Business courses, provide academic advising, and host fun-filled events. The BMP is a network of students helping students.
Shock Wave is a program designed to allow first year students, particularly during frosh week to network with each other and prepare them for the upcoming challenges at the University of Guelph-Humber. Shock Wave was designed by the Accounting Council to promote the value of Accounting in modern-day business and welcome all new university students interested in accounting to our school. Shock Wave promotes a fun-filled week which consists of door prizes and training sessions to allow students to warm up before classes begin. Its goal is to help create a dynamic experience for new students entering the University of Guelph-Humber.
