The University of Guelph-Humber
Accounting Council was officially
constituted in September 2005. The
Council is an undergraduate student body
built to assist students seeking to
achieve success in their career. As
well, the council makes every effort to
provide a platform for accounting majors
to become actively involved in the
Accounting Community.

To broaden student’s
insight and knowledge of
the professional
designations and promote
our theme “Bring Your
Career to Life” while
working to achieve a
common goal for the
students of
Guelph-Humber. As well,
to integrate values, fun
and knowledge to our
students while promoting
“Making the Steps” to
achieve excellence in
their accounting career.


The Council’s vision
endeavours to expand the
student’s exposure to
accounting and business
communities and enhance
the understanding of our
theme “Bring Your Career
to Life”. Our specific
efforts:
- Continue to
institute a strong
network of
professional
contacts
and
ensure the
administration of
creative and unique
events.
- Strong
promotional efforts
on networking events
between students and
professional CA,
CMA, CGA
organizations.
- Continuously
facilitating
communication
between the
community and
administration to
corroborate the
students’ voices
being heard.
- Assist the
students in
preparing for a
career in the
accounting
profession
- Sponsor various
programs to enrich
the educational and
social experiences
at the University of
Guelph-Humber.
- To be a
recognized neighbour
amongst the students
and professional
organizations by
providing answers to
questions, hosting
events, and
facilitating
opportunities for
our graduates.


The
purpose of our council
is:
- To bring
together students,
accounting faculty,
and members of the
business community,
to further their
knowledge and
interest in the CA,
CMA, CGA
career.
- To promote,
foster, and
encourage within the
individual, the art
of accounting as an
essential tool of
modern-day business.
- To create a
network between the
student body and the
professional
organizations by
promote the councils
theme “Bring your
Career to Life”.


To demonstrate our
success in the upcoming
year our focus will be:
- Enhance the
branding of our
theme “Bring Your
Career to Life”.
Ensuring this theme
stands as a
foundation for our
council and future
promotions to our
students.
- Partner with
specific CA, CMA,
CGA firms to
host “A Day in the
Life of a CA, CMA,
CGA” Event
for the students.
- First Annual
“It’s Who You Know,
That Knows You
Event” workshop.
- To become
recognized amongst
the professional
accounting
organizations as a
dynamic, creative
and professional
student
organization.
- Enhancing a more
diverse and bigger
events with regard
to sport
tournaments, P.O.P
Community, CA, CMA,
CGA

Sessions, L.A.U.G.H
Community, social
events etc.
